Twilight: The Best Music Moments in the Movie, Ranked
Twilight is known for its great soundtrack, so here's our ranking of every music moment in the movie.

Catherine Hardwicke’s 2008 Twilight movie marks the start of the Twilight Saga. This first installment follows Bella (Kristen Stewart), who moves to the town of Forks, Washington. What seems like a boring town is home to Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a member of a vampire family. Bella falls for Edward, and is pulled into danger when a group of vampires object to her presence in the Cullens’ life. The movie was a huge hit, and launched the saga’s success. In the years since, the movies’ depictions of love have not been viewed as favorably. However, one thing the saga got right was its memorable soundtracks. Twilight in particular has one of the best, with great songs that bring the story to life. Here are the movie’s best music moments, ranked.
10/10Bella Waiting for Edward to “Eyes on Fire” – Blue Foundation
This song plays as Bella spends a morning at school waiting for Edward to arrive. After their memorable first encounter, she’s clearly intrigued by him. The song has an eerie feel that matches the mystery around Edward and his family, and captures Bella’s intrigue. It fits the new world she’s in, and particularly the world of Edward.
9/10Bella Moving to Forks to “Full Moon” – Black Ghosts
This song plays as Bella leaves the sun of Phoenix to enter the gloom of Forks. Its spooky, folksy vibe is a perfect representation of Bella’s major life change. It sets the tone for the town of Forks and the secrets it holds. It works as an introduction to the town, and to the real start of the movie, intriguing viewers and pulling them in.
8/10Edward and Bella at School Together to “Spotlight (Twilight Mix)” – Mutemath
This song makes for a memorable entrance as Bella shows up at school with Edward for the first time. It’s an upbeat, enthusiastic song that reflects the joy of Edward and Bella being together, and the surprise of the rest of the students.
7/10Prom Dress Shopping to “I Caught Myself” – Paramore
Bella and her friends need to shop for prom dresses, and this Paramore song plays as they try them on. It’s one of the lighter, funnier moments in the movie, as her friend Jess wants a dress that “makes her boobs look good.” This fun, edgy song makes the typical teen dress shopping experience even more memorable.
6/10Edward and Bella Having Dinner to “Never Think” – Robert Pattinson
Edward and Bella’s first date is a memorable affair that happens after Edward rescues her from a group of stalkers. They have dinner in a cozy Italian restaurant, while this song plays in the background of their deep conversation. It was written and performed by Pattinson before the movie, per Cheatsheet, and he didn’t even know it would be included. It doesn’t overpower the scene, but it adds a thoughtful touch underneath their talking. It’s a soft song that feels right at home.
5/10Edward Saving Bella to “Let Me Sign” – Robert Pattinson
After Bella is bitten by James, Edward has to suck the venom from her blood. Though Edward is scared he may lose control and accidentally kill her, he has no other choice. This Pattinson song plays in the background as Edward saves her. It’s a soulful, emotional choice that matches the power of the scene, as Edward desperately holds Bella amid the flames, the Cullens set to burn James.
4/10Climbing Trees to “Bella’s Lullaby” – Carter Burwell
“Bella’s Lullaby” has several appearances in the movie, and the franchise as a whole. However, arguably the most memorable version comes after Edward brings Bella to meet his family. They then venture into the woods, where Bella rides on Edward’s back as he climbs trees. Yes, the scene is responsible for the often-mocked “spider monkey” line, but it also gives us the soaring piano music while looking at the lush trees of Forks in a sweeping moment.
3/10The End Credits to “Leave Out All the Rest” – Linkin Park – and “Decode” – Paramore
These songs only feature in the credits, but have become so synonymous with the movie that it’s impossible to leave them out. “Decode” was written specifically for the movie, and is considered one of the best songs in the whole franchise by Billboard. It also has a great music video set in the woods with scenes of Edward and Bella. “Leave Out All the Rest,” while not written for the movie, perfectly reflects Edward and Bella’s love. Both make perfect closing songs, and have come to represent the Twilight Saga.
2/10The Prom Scene to “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” – Iron and Wine
This slow, sad ballad plays as Edward and Bella dance together at prom. After all they’ve been through in the movie, it’s the perfect soft song for sharing a dance and closing out the movie. It lets the audience share the moment with them, and experience their happiness after Bella’s near-death. The song became so special in the saga that it returned in their wedding.
1/10The Baseball Scene to “Supermassive Black Hole” – Muse
When there’s a thunderstorm in Forks, the Cullens take advantage and play baseball in a clearing. This song plays during their thrilling game, and while it’s great on its own, its energetic nature becomes even better paired with the action. It’s impossible to picture Alice pitching, or Edward running to make a catch, without this playing. The song is a perfect fit for the moment, and fans of the movie will forever think of it when remembering the baseball scene.
