Twilight’s Official Twitter Account Gives Robert Pattinson’s Batman the Seal of Approval

The Twilight Saga is responsible for bringing Robert Pattinson into stardom, so they explained on Twitter what they like about the actor as Batman.

The Twilight Saga offered a very blunt explanation for the excitement surrounding Robert Pattinson’s lead role in Matt Reeve’s highly anticipated, The Batman.

Hot off the hype from the DC FanDome release of the first trailer, Twilight’s official Twitter account posted a screenshot showcasing Pattinson in the iconic mask and cowl, adding, “It’s the jawline for me.”

The Twilight movies are largely responsible for bringing Pattinson to the level of pop culture stardom that he enjoys today. The five-movie saga based off the best-selling books by Stephanie Meyer granted Pattinson the notoriety he needed to transition his acting career into the indie and art house rolls that put him on Reeves’ radar.

Movies like Good Time, High Life and The Lighthouse gave Pattinson an experimental platform to display his range and talent that stretches far beyond playing vampire, Edward Cullen. It was Pattinson’s supporting roll in 2016’s The Lost City of Z that convinced Reeves the actor could potentially be a great Batman. Pattinson’s chameleon-like performance stuck with Reeves and encouraged the director to dig deeper into Pattinson’s career over the past six years. Upon meeting Pattinson, Reeves found that they both shared excitement and passion for the character, and the rest was history.

The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and co-written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin. The film stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/The Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson. The Batman is set to be released in theaters on Oct. 1, 2021.
