Prepare to return to Forks for the 10th anniversary of Twilight.
The first film that launched the Twilight Saga phenomenon is officially headed back to theaters in celebration of its 10th anniversary. Fathom Events and Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment have announced that fans of Twilight will be able to relive the magic on the big screen when it returns to theaters for two days only this October.
When the film returns, it’ll also include an introduction from director Catherine Hardwicke and an exclusive sneak peek of the brand-new special feature Twilight Tour…10 Years Later from the upcoming Twilight 4K Ultra HD home entertainment release, which is available October 23. The special Twilight celebration will mark the first title of the “Fathom Spotlight” series, which will go on to showcase contemporary blockbusters, modern classics and fan-favorite films.
“Twilight was a once-in-a-generation supernatural love story that became a pop-culture turning point for teens and teens-at-heart,” Fathom Events VP of Studio Relations Tom Lucas said. “Fathom Events is thrilled to be celebrating the movie’s 10th anniversary with Summit Entertainment by presenting it on the big screen this October.”
Twilight will play in more than 450 movie theaters nationwide Sunday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 23, at 2 PM and 7 PM (local time). Those interested in attending a celebration screening can purchase tickets now at www.FathomEvents.com or at participating theater box offices.
Along with returning to theaters for two nights, fans will be able to relive the magic on the smaller screen, too, as Twilight will be getting a 4K Ultra HD Combo Pack (plus Blu-ray and Digital). Plus, if that isn’t enough, all five Twilight Saga films will get new collectible artwork on Blu-ray Combo Pack (plus DVD and Digital).
Directed by Catherine Hardwick (Thirteen), from a script by Melissa Rosenberg (Jessica Jones), Twilight starred Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. The film was based on the New York Times Bestseller of the same name by author Stephenie Meyer and proved to be a box-office phenomenon, taking in an astounding $393 million at the worldwide box office on a modest $37 million budget. The franchise, which consisted of five films, went on to bring in over $1.3 million at the domestic box office and over $3 billion globally. The franchise also starred Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz and Anna Kendrick.
