The Twilight franchise has been lying dormant for years after the final film – Breaking Dawn Part Two – was released in 2012. But now fans are over the moon as author Stephenie Meyer has revealed the exciting news her next novel Midnight Sun is finally going to be released. The book will be released in August, and is told entirely from brooding vampire Edward Cullen’s perspective.
Twilight became one of the biggest and most successful series of novels in the world, gathering a horde of fans – affectionately titled “Twihards”.
But the journey of Midnight Sun, Meyer’s latest book, wasn’t an easy one, as an early draft was leaked online years ago, halting its release to the public.
Many thought the project had been shelved altogether, but thankfully, Meyer persevered, and the book is now being released in its final complete form in the height of summer.
Sharing the exciting news with her fans, the author declared today: “I hope this book gives my readers a little pleasure to anticipate and, if it arrives, a chance to live in an imaginary world for a while.

“It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure if this was the right time to put this book out.
“But some of you have been waiting for just so, so long.
Meyer continued: “It didn’t seem fair to make you wait anymore.
“Sorry about the bad timing.

“Hopefully this book can be a distraction from the real world.”
“I’m so excited to finally be able to share it with you, the writer added.
Meyer, who also wrote Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and alien story The Host, went on to share more thoughts in a press release out today.
“I hope this book gives my readers a little pleasure to anticipate and, if it arrives, a chance to live in an imaginary world for a while,” she said.
