Priyanka Chopra welcomed her daughter via surrogacy this year in January. She named her Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Priyanka is a philanthropist. She has always been vocal when it comes to talking about child rights.
In partnership with UNICEF, she recently put up a post narrating the story of Sonya, who has been living at a metro station in war-torn Kharkiv.
She captioned this thoughtful post with, “A childhood spent underground is not a childhood any child should have to endure. Take a moment to listen to Sonya’s story…In light of everything that is going on around the world right now, it’s an important story for us all because, despite the conditions she is living in, Sonya is still roller-skating and studying, all thanks to @unicef, who is on the ground providing education, access to clean water, mental health support, medical supplies and more.
No child should have to live underground. No child should have to live in fear. No child should be deprived of their rights. Which is why what UNICEF and its partners are doing to help children and families in desperate need of safety, stability and protection, is so very important.
