Peaky Blinders Announces VR Game Adaptation With First Teaser
Peaker Blinders announces The King's Ransom, a new VR game that will allow fans to explore its gritty world and talk with their favorite characters.

Fans of the hit crime series Peaky Blinders will be able to interact with their favorite characters in the upcoming The King’s Ransom VR game.
Developed by Maze Theory, a studio well-versed in crafting VR games, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom is set to tell an original story within the overarching narrative of the series. Players will be tasked with infiltrating the seedy underground of Birmingham, with a final goal of exposing the underhanded activities of the city’s most notorious crime family. Both Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson reprise their roles as Tommy Shelby and Arthur Shelby respectively. It’s currently unknown whether The King’s Ransom is considered canon with the events of the series but the developer does confirm that it takes place between Season 4 and 5.
Iconic locations from the show, including The Garrison pub, Charlie’s Yard and Shelby’s Betting Shop will all make an appearance. Players will need to explore these areas while also making allies with a variety of shady individuals in order to say ahead of their targets. “Life in the world of the Peaky Blinders is full of opportunity – and risk,” reads the official description from Maze Theory. “With loyalties, reputations and lives on the line, immerse yourself in dramatic action, engage in thrilling visceral combat and make gut-wrenching moral choices.”
Over the course of six seasons, Peaky Blinders has earned itself a dedicated following. The series is loosely based on the real-life crime gang which plagued the streets of Birmingham shortly after World War One. Peaky Blinders has received almost universal critical acclaim with many reviewers praising its stylish cinematography, writing and performances from a cast that includes heavy-hitters like Tom Hardy, Adrien Brody and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Speaking to the series’ upcoming sixth and final season, star Cillian Murphy commented on why he thinks audiences are so drawn to Tommy Shelby. “People are willing to spend an awful long time with characters who, if someone described them to you in daily life, you would say, ‘Keep that person away from me.’ Is it only in television that that exists?” said Murphy.
Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom doesn’t have a specific release window but Maze Theory confirmed that it will arrive in 2022. The game will be available on the Oculus Quest systems.
