The Absolute Worst Things The ‘Twilight’ Cast Ever Said About The Films

The cast of 'Twilight' had no issue mocking the movies.

At the height of the Twilight film franchise’s popularity, the movies had millions of fans all over the world who were dying for the next movie in the series to be released. In fact, devotees cared about the movies enough to come up with many Twilight fan theories. Since most actors spend their entire careers trying to land a role in even one film that finds an audience, it is clear that the people who starred in Twilight were lucky in a lot of ways.

Unfortunately, no matter how much some people love the movies, there are a lot of people who can’t stand them partially because they feel the Twilight films make no sense in too many ways. Worse yet, it turns out that a lot of the actors who starred in the Twilight films aren’t big fans of the films either based on the things they have said about them.

When a lot of moviegoers watch movies, they don’t think about what the actors they are watching had to go through to make the film. Unfortunately, several of the people who starred in Twilight have admitted that making the movies wasn’t fun a lot of the time. For example, Taylor Lautner has spoken about some of the worst parts of starring in the Twilight franchise including his shirtless scenes. “I’m always the only person with my shirt off. It’s not fun.” On top of that, Lautner hated the wig he wore. “The wig, it was a very important costar. There was hatred between both of us. It did not like me, I did not like it. Not fond memories.”

Anna Kendrick Compared Making The Twilight Movies To A Hostage Situation

If Taylor Lautner didn’t make it clear that starring in the Twilight movies could be rough, Anna Kendrick certainly did when she said she wanted to “murder everyone” while on set. Kendrick also admitted that making the Twilight films was so bad that it was traumatic. “There was something about it, like if you go through some trauma event. Like, you imagine people who survive a hostage situation, and you’re kind of bonded for life.”

Elizabeth Reaser Found An Aspect Of Twilight Movies Popularity Inappropriate

When the Twilight movies came out and became a sensation, it was very clear that a huge portion of the reason why they were so successful was the teenage love triangle at its center. For that reason, it was surprising to note that many Twilight fans were middle-aged women. For one Twilight star, it was more than surprising since Elizabeth Reaser found it inappropriate that so many middle-aged women fawned over the film’s male leads. “Taylor was just 16 and still a boy when much older ladies would be asking me about his body. It was just really inappropriate.”

Kellan Lutz Said He “Didn’t Like” A Twilight Script

In 2012, Twilight star Kellen Lutz took part in an interview for a publication called Document Journal. During the resulting conversation, Lutz was very open about disliking the script for The Twilight Saga: New Moon before agreeing to star in the film. “I didn’t like the script. How scary would a glimmering vampire really be? It just doesn’t make sense.”

Rami Malek Mocked A Twilight Scene As Unintentionally “Hilarious”

Back when he agreed to appear in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Rami Malek’s career was still on the rise. These days, however, Malek is an Oscar-winning actor who is widely respected in the business. Perhaps that is why he feels comfortable mocking one memorable and cringe-worthy Twilight scene. “When they’re sitting in that chemistry class and Edward can smell Bella, that’s hilarious,”

Kristen Stewart Defends Twilight But Still Calls Part Of It “Ridiculous”

When Kristen Stewart spoke to Interview in 2015, she admitted she understands Twilight haters but she doesn’t agree with them. “Anybody who wants to talk s—t about Twilight, I completely get it, but there’s something there that I’m endlessly, and to this day, f—king proud of.” However, when Stewart appeared on The Graham Norton Show, she called out The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’s intimate scenes. “As soon as [Bella] becomes a vampire, they kind of ignore their duties instantly. They just want to bone… It’s the most ridiculous situation. Really? You just had a child? REALLY?… Yeah, but this feels so good!… I’m so sparkly.”

Robert Pattinson Found The Twilight Books “Uncomfortable”

Of all the people who starred in the Twilight movies, it has always been clear that Robert Pattinson dislikes them the most. With that in mind, it isn’t overly surprising that Pattinson has even criticized the books the movies are based on. “When I read it, I was convinced Stephenie was convinced she was Bella and it was like it was a book that wasn’t supposed to be published. It was like reading her sexual fantasy, especially when she said it was based on a dream. Like some things about Edward are so specific, I was just convinced, like, ‘This woman is mad. She’s completely mad and she’s in love with her own fictional creation.’ And sometimes you would feel uncomfortable reading this thing.”

Robert Pattinson Finds Twilight’s Popularity “Strange”

When Robert Pattinson spoke to Variety in 2020, he admitted that he finds it strange that people like Twilight at all. “It’s a weird story, Twilight. It’s not just like – it’s strange how people responded a lot to it. I guess the books are very romantic, but at the same time, it’s not like The Notebook romantic. The Notebook is very sweet and heartbreaking, but Twilight is about this guy, and he finds the one girl he wants to be with, and he also wants to eat her… I mean, not eat her, but like drink her blood or whatever. It’s not that other people are telling them they can’t be together, it’s his own body telling him that.”

Robert Pattinson Thought There Was Something Wrong With Edward And Bella

While speaking to Buzzfeed, Robert Pattinson expressed his opinion that there is something wrong with Edward and Bella. “When you put the bare facts out, he tells her, ‘I killed 40 or 50 people and I want to kill you so much. Every single day, every moment I’m with I’m wanting to kill you.’ And she’s like, ‘I don’t care. I love you.’ And it’s like, well there’s definitely something wrong with her and there’s obviously something wrong with me.”

Robert Pattinson Seemed Disturbed By Twilight’s Main Love Story

Years after the release of the last Twilight movie, Robert Pattinson spoke to OK magazine about Bella and Edward’s age gap. What am I doing with this kid? I’m 108 years old.” Worse yet, Pattinson summed up his feelings about Edward and Bella during an appearance on NOVA FM. “Everyone’s like ‘Oh it’s such a fairytale romance? And it’s just like, ‘This seems like a nightmare!'”
