Game Of Thrones: The Worst Things The Characters Have Done, Ranked

When it comes to horrible acts committed by the characters on Game of Thrones, there’s a lot to comb through. The epic story is set in a world where abuse, ɱʋrɗᥱr, and betrayal are pretty commonplace, but every now and then, a character will do something so awful it stands out.

Sometimes, these acts are committed by good characters we’d actually want to be, who are pushed to do terrible things. Other times, they’re performed by terrible or useless Game of Thrones characters that most viewers hate. From standing against family members to betraying loved ones to kidnapping and abuse and mass ɱʋrɗᥱr, here’s our ranking of the worst things the characters on Game of Thrones have ever done, from season one to season eight.

15 Sansa Stark: Siding With Joffrey Over Arya

When we look at Sansa Stark’s evolution on Game of Thrones, it’s clear that she changed drastically between the first and last season. While in the last season she rises to the position of Queen in the North, the first season sees her actually siding with Joffrey over her sister Arya after the altercation with the Butcher’s Boy, which Joffrey is lying about. This has to be the worst thing she’s ever done.

14 Arya Stark: Abandoning The Hound After They Developed A Friendship

Arya Stark inflicts pain and ɗᥱαꚍɧ just like nearly every other character on the show, but the difference is she tends to only hurt the bad guys. While we don’t think taking revenge for the Red Wedding is the worst thing she’s ever done, we still can’t believe that she abandoned her friend the Hound after Brienne of Tarth nearly ƙ𝔦ℓℓed him.

13 Jon Snow: Betraying Ygritte And The Wildlings

In the early seasons of the show, Jon Snow is torn between his loyalty to the Night’s Watch and his loyalty to the wildlings. When he ultimately betrays the wildlings after gaining Mance Rayder’s trust, he not only lets them down, but he also breaks the heart of Ygritte, the love of his life. For someone as deeply good as Jon Snow, this is a serious transgression.

12 Jaime Lannister: Pushing Bran Out The Window

Jamie Lannister does a lot of terrible things throughout the series, ranging from taunting Ned Stark to abandoning Brienne of Tarth to go and ɗ𝔦ᥱ with Cersei in King’s Landing. But we think the worst thing has to be pushing Bran from the window of the tower in the pilot episode. Who tries to ɱʋrɗᥱr a kid?

11 The High Sparrow: Forcing Cersei To Do The Walk Of Shame

Cersei is one of the evilest characters on Game of Thrones, but that didn’t make her Walk of Atonement any easier to watch. The High Sparrow might be the ultimate hypocrite, preaching about peace and righteousness and then inflicting that kind of abuse on people, even if they’re not exactly innocent.

10 Tyrion Lannister: ƙ𝔦ℓℓing Tywin Lannister

The moment when Tyrion Lannister finally puts an end to his father’s hatred of him by ɱʋrɗᥱring him with a crossbow left many fans feeling satisfied. It’s easy to see how Tyrion is pushed to the point that he’s ready to ɱʋrɗᥱr his own father, but it’s still one of the most brutal things he does. Necessary, but brutal.

Theon Greyjoy: Betraying The Starks And Executing Two Innocent Boys

By taking Winterfell, Theon Greyjoy commits the ultimate act of betrayal against the Stark family who treated him like a son since his youth. And even though he spares Bran and Rickon, he executes two innocent boys in their place. This is pretty terrible, although that’s not to say that Theon deserves the anguish that comes his way once Ramsay Bolton captures him.

Euron Greyjoy: ƙ𝔦ℓℓing Rhaegal

The unhinged Euron Greyjoy is one of the most malicious and ambitious characters on the show. Although ɱʋrɗᥱring his brother and trying to ɱʋrɗᥱr his niece and nephew are up there with the worst things he’s ever done, his most despicable crime is ƙ𝔦ℓℓing Rhaegal and contributing to Daenerys’s descent into madness.

Littlefinger: Plotting The ɗᥱαꚍɧ Of Jon Arryn

Littlefinger is another character whose bad deeds are hard to keep track of. Many fans argue that his cruelest act is serving Sansa up to the Boltons. Others say that it’s betraying Ned Stark. But by conspiring with Lysa Arryn to ƙ𝔦ℓℓ the former Hand of the King, Jon Arryn, he kick-started a series of events that led to pain and ɗᥱαꚍɧ for pretty much everyone in Westeros.

Joffrey Baratheon: Forcing Sansa To Look At Ned’s Severed Head

While many characters in Game of Thrones ƙ𝔦ℓℓ and harm others to get ahead, Joffrey does it purely for fun. His taste for cruelty makes him one of the most vicious characters of the show. And the worst thing he ever does to Sansa? Forcing her to look at her father’s severed head after promising he’d be spared and then ordering his execution.

Cersei Lannister: ɱʋrɗᥱring All Of Robert’s Illegitimate Children

Like her son Joffrey, Cersei Lannister is seriously lacking in empathy and compassion. She’ll do anything to hold onto her power, even ɱʋrɗᥱring babies. When she finds out Joffrey’s right to rule could be challenged, she orders Robert’s illegitimate children to be ƙ𝔦ℓℓed so they can’t grow up and steal the throne from her son, which is pretty despicable.

Walder Frey: Working With The Lannisters And Roose Bolton To Orchestrate The Red Wedding

There was more than one conspirator behind the Red Wedding. Along with Tywin Lannister and Roose Bolton, Walder Frey was responsible for the massacre of Robb Stark and his new wife Talisa, as well as his mother Catelyn Stark, and all his men. We couldn’t have been happier to see Arya take her revenge on House Frey.

Daenerys Targaryen: Burning King’s Landing

For the majority of the series, Daenerys Targaryen is a character who serves her people and tries hard to make the right choices. But there are hints throughout the show that suggest she might end up becoming like her father, the Mad King. And by the final season, after several blows, she does. ɱʋrɗᥱring the innocent people of King’s Landing was uncalled for, to say the least.

Ramsay Bolton: Abusing Theon And Sansa

Most Game of Thrones fans would agree that the evilest character on the show who enjoys cruelty even more than Joffrey is Ramsay Bolton. His prolonged abuse of Theon for no reason at all is the representation of evil, as are his assaults on Sansa, who tragically becomes his wife. This is definitely one of the worst things that a main character on the show did.

The Mountain: ɱʋrɗᥱring Elia Martell And Her Children

There are many wicked acts on Game of Thrones, but none is so terrible as the rape and ɱʋrɗᥱr of Elia Martell and the slaying of her innocent children. Although this takes place before the events of the show, we find out about the Mountain’s cruelty from Oberyn Martell, who arrives in King’s Landing to take his revenge. And sadly, he never gets it.
